Ever since reading about Robert Smithson's Spiral Jetty (1970) in college in the 1980s, I have wanted to visit the site. Sunday morning after the Antelope Island shoot, I made a detour to see the jetty. Got their around 10:00 AM and left at 11:27. Next time I go I'll camp out in the area for a few days hoping for the photo gods to smile down with some light shows and shoot from a platform I am thinking of making for the top of my van. I remember seeing an image of the jetty made by Darren Clark, I think last year. It was absolutely stunning. It still inspires me to explore this earthwork.
