Don Giannatti Studio in Phoenix
I worked with Don Giannatti in and around his Phoenix Studio this weekend. Don provided a full weekend of learning and practice. Don is kind of a Renaissance Man. Smattered between photography shoots were discussions ranging from politics, philosophy, music, education, business, entrepreneurship, family, food, and entertainment.
The above photos are of the studio and buildings around the area.
These panos were taken from the second floor of the motel I stayed at...right across the street from the studio.
This post sets the stage for some of the work produced during the two days to follow.

Final Burton House Shoot
I went back to make a few more images of this house. I wanted to get another image of the corner without the blue shape on the floor and a few more images of the wall. I noticed a possible image on the other side of the house. The copse of trees through the window worked out nicely due to the dim ambient. This small one room log home was about 12 feet by 20 feet. Amazing what families called home a hundred years ago. It reminds me of Thoreau's Walden. Simplicity is a seductive notion.
Burton, Idaho
Went out yesterday afternoon. Got stuck in wheel-deep mud in January! Rescued by a trucker with a long chain. I am not much of a country guy so am amazed at the friendly generosity of people who live in outlying areas.
Visited five abandoned houses. Two were disappointing. Two were inaccessible. This one in Burton made the day somewhat worthwhile.
